Tuesday Trends : Terracotta Tailoring : Sabrina Styles
For a recent trip to London I wanted a look that was very city chic without compromising on comfort. Trousers are a great alternative to a standard pair of skinnies because they can dress up an outfit without looking too formal. They’re also the perfect way to throw in a little print into an outfit and I find the best time to get them is during the sale period, where you can pick up some great deals.
The ones in question here are a pair of tailored navy cropped trousers and I find the shorter length helps them look more daytime appropriate (you can always roll up an existing pair to play with the length). To compliment the dotted pattern I opted for a similar terracotta shade for my top. I like how the slightly baggier top juxtaposes the tighter fit of the trousers to ensure for some movement. Despite being a warm toned top (traditionally linked to autumn) it can be worn in any season because of the flowyness of the fabric and the ability to layer under it.
As we move into spring this floral bag was a must to carry all of my essentials in. Despite the mixture of patterns and prints in this look they all blend together seamlessly because of the coordinating colour palette.
The look was finished off with an on trend choker and some suede Gucci inspired loafers, keeping it minimalist to ensure minimum fuss. I think Gucci have been killing it these last few seasons, and their loafers and embroidery motifs have been the inspiration for many high street stores. These two trends are unavoidable at the moment, and if you head over to my Instagram you can see I’ve definitely given in to them.
