The death of Lisa Marie Presley has hit many people harder than they might have expected.
Born to rock music’s greatest titan, Elvis Presley, ‘The King’, she was seen as his little princess. On her birth in 1968 she was presented to the world’s press, like a royal baby is.
Although her own three music albums were moderately successful, she was enormously famous throughout her life.
Despite the wealth and fame, however, that life was not always an easy one. She suffered the loss of her icon father at age 9, followed by the deaths of her grandfather and great grandmother. She had 4 marriages that ended in divorce, including one to Michael Jackson and another to actor Nicolas Cage. She suffered a number of health problems as well as periods of drug addiction. She had many legal and financial woes.
Two years ago she lost her adored son, Benjamin, to suicide. On the rare occasions she was seen in public after it, her grief and sadness were palpable.
She loved Baz Luhrmann‘s film Elvis, being thrilled at how well Austin Butler had captured her father’s essence.
Just days ago she was at the Golden Globes to see Butler win the best actor award. Her emotion was there for all to see.
She had a striking physical resemblance to her father and also inherited many of his personality traits.
Of the millions of stories written about Elvis, there is one everyone can agree on; that he absolutely adored Lisa Marie. Becoming a father, he said, was his greatest happiness.
Lisa Marie Presley is survived by her mother Priscilla, her eldest daughter Riley and her 14-year-old twin daughters Harper and Finley.
She was the sole owner of Graceland, the home Elvis bought when he first became famous. Graceland is the second most visited home in the United States after the White House. Elvis is buried there as is Lisa Marie‘s son. Lisa wrote a song once about how she noticed there was a space beside her family members. Sadly, that space will now be filled.
Lisa Marie once said that one of the songs her father used to sing to her was Can’t help falling in Love with you.

About Us

In 2019 there were over 128,000 solicitors in the United Kingdom and over 16,000 barristers.

As lawyers, we have a unique lifestyle: we travel to far flung courts at a moment’s notice; we eat on the go; we have a very particular dress code; we work unusual hours; and whilst we are a popular subject for films and television dramas, we are also one of the least popular professionals in the eyes of the public.
