Power Dressing: Beyond the Suit
For many years, power dressing has been defined by a particular image: the perfectly tailored suit and statement heels. There’s no denying these pieces have long represented what a powerful woman looks like. But I believe things have changed and evolved. Even though a suit and heels will always remain a statement look, power dressing is a lot more than that.
True power dressing is personal, versatile, and meaningful. It’s about discovering the clothes that make you feel confident, empowered, and yourself. The pieces that, when you get dressed in the morning, make you feel ready foryour day. Power dressing begins with understanding. When you know and embrace your body shape, you can choose pieces that enhance your figure and make you feel empowered. It’s also about wearing the right colours, those that bring energy to your look and lift your mood. Also, choosing fabrics that feel good, cuts that fit your lifestyle, and outfits that work for you. When you wear clothes that suit your shape, you feel confident, empowered, and ready to walk into any room. Whether it’s doing the school run or running the office, it’s about feeling completely yourself. That comfort allows you to pass on positive energy to those around you. Your days will become more enjoyable and productive.
When you get dressed with this in mind, something shifts. You don’t wonder if you look great, you feel it. You walk into a room with presence, self-assurance, and a positive energy people notice immediately and I assure you, it’s contagious!
The impact goes further than just appearance. When you feel good in what you’re wearing, it shows in the way you speak, connect with others, and approach challenges. Your confidence doesn’t just shape your day, it influences everyone around you.

So, yes, a suit and heels can be powerful. But so can a perfectly cut pair of trousers, a dress in the right colour, or shoes that let you move comfortably and confidently through your world. Power dressing is not about the specific clothes, it’s about the way they make you feel: confident, empowered, and unapologetically yourself. I always tell my clients, prepare your outfit the night before or at least think about it. It will set you up for a successful day. Clothes have more impact on your mental health than you might think.
That is the real power of dressing
